What Does Hard Anodized Mean in Cookware?
The Process. Hard anodizing is performed by placing the cookware into an electrolytic acid bath.
Non-Stick. The treated surface of hard anodized cookware gives it a nearly non-porous finish.
Aluminum. Aluminum provides a very even heating surface compared to other metals.

Due to its non-stick coating, hard-anodized aluminum cookware should only be hand-washed. The high temperature and harsh chemicals of a dishwasher could degrade the non-stick coating.

When hand-washing this kind of cookware, never use abrasive sponges or harsh chemicals.
